The Marshall Community Chorus is comprised of volunteer singers from throughout Saline, Lafayette and Pettis counties. Our members come from all walks of life and represent every age group. In our choir you will find teachers, business owners, farmers, housewives, retired citizens, elected officials, students, and the list goes on.
Each member of the choir gives of their time and talent to rehearse in preparation for the concerts that you look forward to each year. In addition to its regular concert season you will find the choir joining forces with other musical groups throughout the year and also hear them at various community events like the Marshall Ministerial Alliance's annual Community Thanksgiving Service and the Habitat for Humanity's annual Nativity Festival.
A number of the choir members have performed in Missouri All-State Community and Church Honor Choirs and ACDA Divisional Choirs for the past several years. This group of singers has the opportunity to rehearse and perform under a nationally recognized choral conductor during the annual summer convention of the Missouri Choral Directors Association in Jefferson City. Several members of the choir also had the privilegeof singing in the 2008 American Choral Directors Association CommunityHonor Choir under the direction of Mack Wilberg, esteemed director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and again in 2010 under the direction of Mark Hayes during the ACDA southwestern division conventions.
